The Kingdom achieves its best historical result and advances 12 positions globally in the United Nations Index

The Kingdom has achieved its highest historical result in the E-Government Development Index

United Nations E-Government Development Index since its launch over 20 years ago. it secured the 31st position in this year 2022, compared to the 43rd position in 2020. Saudi Arabia is among the top countries globally in progress, particularly in the first sub-indicator for e-services among 193 countries, securing the 32nd position with a percentage of 82% this year. The index results were announced on Wednesday on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly meetings in New York. This index is considered one of the most important international indicators measuring the development of digital governments in the areas of e-services, communications, infrastructure, and human capital worldwide.

His Excellency, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Engineer Abdullah Al-Swaha, honored Mr. Mahmoud Al-Zoubi, Executive Advisor of Arrowad Group and Kaizen Company and an expert in enhancing electronic government services, acknowledging his outstanding efforts and effective contribution in supporting the Kingdom's efforts to improve its ranking by 12 positions in the United Nations E-Government Development Index for the year 2022, and achieving its highest historical result, surpassing the baseline of Vision 2030, By the grace of Allah.

The Kingdom ranked among the top countries globally in providing information on government services and making government data open and shareable to citizens and business sectors, achieving a percentage of 100%. The report also praised the maturity of digital government organizations, reaching 96%, and the quality of digital service specifications, with a rating of 94%. The availability and dissemination of digital government services reached 81%. Saudi Arabia advanced 23 positions globally in electronic participation and consultations directed at individuals and business sectors, for soliciting their opinions on legislation and regulations with economic and social impact. The report commended the Kingdom's exceptional performance in all areas of e-government development, ranking it as the most advanced within the scope of economically and socially similar countries. Additionally, Riyadh ranked fourth globally in the use of technology and its applications within the 'very high range' among 193 cities worldwide.
